Body

(For Students and Faculty)

Canvas ePortfolios are digital portfolios that let students share samples of their work, reflections, and learning evidence. These can be shared privately or publicly.

For Students: Creating and Sharing an ePortfolio

  1. Click Account > ePortfolios from the global navigation menu.

  2. Click Create an ePortfolio.

  3. Give it a name, and choose whether to make it public or private.

  4. Add sections/pages and upload content like text, images, links, or files.

To submit an ePortfolio link in an assignment:

  1. Go to your ePortfolio home page.

  2. Copy the URL from the browser address bar.

  3. Paste this link into the text entry box of a Canvas assignment or discussion post.

For Faculty: Accessing and Reviewing ePortfolios

Faculty cannot search for or view student ePortfolios directly from within the course unless students submit the link through an assignment or message. Encourage students to set their portfolio to public (if appropriate) or to share the private link.

Tips:

  • Create a text entry assignment for portfolio submission.

  • Clarify expectations for content and format.

  • You can view submitted links like any other online assignment submission.
