Body
Ally automatically scans course content for accessibility as soon as it is uploaded to your LMS. It currently supports the following file types:
- PDF files
- Microsoft Word files
- Microsoft PowerPoint files
- OpenOffice and LibreOffice files
- Uploaded HTML files
- Image files (JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and TIFF)
- WYSIWYG/VTBE content
- YouTube videos embedded in WYSIWYG/VTBE content.
What Happens After You Upload?
Once you upload a supported file to your course, Ally gets to work right away. It generates alternative versions of the file so students can choose the format that works best for them, whether that is an audio version, a tagged PDF, an ePub, or another option. Ally also gives each file an accessibility score along with guidance on what you can do to improve it.
This means faculty get a clear picture of where their content stands and what steps they can take, while students benefit from having more ways to engage with course materials.
