Update - Starting June 10, 2025, the university has discontinued the option to add SMS (text message) or Voice Call verification methods for multi-factor authentication. Existing users who have SMS Authentication or Voice Call Authentication configured for MFA will still be able to log in using those methods until further notice.
Overview
When you sign in to login.pugetsound.edu for the first time in a day, using a new browser, or using an incognito/private browser window, you will be prompted to verify the login attempt. This process is known as multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Choosing which security method to use for MFA
After entering your username and password at login.pugetsound.edu on a new browser or after you have cleared your cache, you will be prompted to select which of your configured security methods to use for MFA. Select the option you would like to use. Your browser will set that as the default method the next time you log in.

If you have multiple security methods configured and you cannot use your default method, click Verify with something else to select a different security method to verify your log in.
