Google Vids

Google Vids is an easy-to-use video creation tool within Google Workspace. Whether you’re putting together a presentation, a tutorial, or a project update, Google Vids provides everything you need to record, edit, and share your videos seamlessly.

Accessing Google Vids

  1. Open your browser and go to: vids.new
  2. You can also access Vids through your Google Drive

Creating a Video in Google Vids

1. Start with a Template

Templates provide a structured starting point with pre-set scenes and transitions:

  1. Open Google Vids and go to the Templates tab.
  2. Browse the template gallery and choose one that fits your needs.
  3. Add all scenes or select individual ones.
  4. Customize the text, images, and video clips.

2. Record Your Own Video

You can record video or audio directly within Google Vids:

  1. Click Record and choose to capture your screen, your camera, or both.
  2. Record for up to 10 minutes at a time.
  3. Preview your recording and re-record if needed.
  4. Insert the recording into your video and edit as necessary.

3. Upload Existing Videos and Media

If you already have footage or images, you can upload them into your project:

  1. Click Upload and select files from your computer.
  2. Drag and drop the files onto your timeline.
  3. Trim, adjust, and rearrange clips as needed.

4. Build a Video from Scratch

For full creative control, start with a blank timeline:

  1. Open Google Vids and close the setup wizard.
  2. Click the Add Media button to upload videos, images, or audio.
  3. Use the timeline to arrange and edit clips.
